Safe in water*: Yes, the strap is perfectly safe to be worn in water(swimming,diving,etc), but it will still be wet and the color will slightly fade, giving a better vintage effect (this is what is mostly hoped for by customers)

As how Gunny Straps usually does it, Peter Gunny, founder of Gunny Straps, designed a brutalized canvas straps with double linear padding.
Since it looks like a veiny muscle, we called it the Double Muscular series. Doubling the dose of the steroid, doubling the dose of the hardcore-ness. A perfect choice for hardcore, sporty, and casual users.
