Safe in water*: Yes, the strap is perfectly safe to be worn in water(swimming, diving, etc), but it will still be wet and the color will slightly fade, giving a better vintage effect (this is what is mostly hoped for by customers)
The Canvas series started with the “Canvas Verte” in 2013. Before this, Gunny Straps had only been making straps from leather. Peter Gunny, as the founder, has been perfecting the vintaging method for him and his team, only on leather surfaces, which is where the inspiration came from.
In March 2013, Peter decided to take on a challenge, and to hand-vintage a canvas surfaced strap and created the Canvas Verte. This led to a very high demand and became our #1 best seller for 2 consecutive years since launch, and we decided to expand the Canvas Verte into numerous Canvas Series.
This Canvas Patina Scritto series is a mix-up between several strap-making techniques, that combines hand-crafting a Canvas Strap on leather, hand-patina the surface, and customizable wordings to make it truly yours. Perfect for a sporty and casual matching.
